A BUSINESS ANTHROPOLOGIST'S PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS A BETTER CORPORATE WORLD
ASPECTS OF BUSINESS I FOCUS ON
What is Business Anthropology?
Anthropology is a comparative and holistic study of humankind. An Anthropologist uses research methods including a holistic perspective to examine the functionality of a community, or in this case a business. Business Anthropology can be applied in many areas to enhance your company's operations, productivity and culture. Humans are social beings and since the beginning of human existence we have relied on societal structures of culture. A business is no exception. As an anthropological consultant, I will help you identify the best pathway to merge your corporate culture and the individuals who shape it with your business goals and outcomes.
How Does it Work?
Questions you might be asking are: How do I create an environment where my employees feel valued? How can the productivity of my employees be increased? My new employees are having a hard time integrating into the workspace and understanding the job, how do I fix this?
An anthropologist can help!
Step 1:
We discuss your specific expectations and questions. Designing methods customized for your needs, I will then provide my initial thoughts and outline.
Step 2:
I begin my study of your company by gathering data from employees, customers and other aspects discussed in Step 1 and perhaps finding new areas of interest along the way.
Step 3:
After further research, I begin my analysis of collected data. I investigate nuances, variations, and themes to uncover strategies to boost your organization.
Step 4:
I will identify solutions and work with you to implement processes and practices to help you achieve a more functional, productive and profitable organization.
Services
Following the ethnographic methods of anthropological research, each project consists of five stages: Initial Study, Methods & Tailored Approach, Process, Analysis, and Research Findings.
Typical studies are 1 or 2 weeks depending on your timeframe and what you want analyzed. Shorter studies focus on surface-level analysis, with longer studies allowing for more in-depth observations and specific guidance.
